They have a strange quirk in that they have 23 frets for some reason. But those Patriots are very strong guitars with great necks and pickups. The Patriot Instinct has an arched-top single cutaway body with a Quilt Maple top, Tune-O-Matic. ![]() Peaveys are under rated in general because they never hit the popularity of Fender, Gibson, etc. I played a lot of Black Sabbath and Metallica on a Patriot, and it sounded great. You can get some very nice clean tones out of them, but you can also get some screaming metal tones with the right gain settings and some help from the right pedal. ![]() The pickups look like humbuckers, but they are actually large single coils. ![]() They are built in the U.S.A., and they are built to last. ![]()
